This is the follow up to the painting MAVIS. In 2006 I met a live Hawk Owl at an event and that was the exact moment I fell in love with owls. She was perfect. And tiny. And genius. And her shiny eyes seemed to bore holes straight into my soul. WEIRD, I know. But meeting an owl in person - impacted me in a huge way and I wanted to share that somehow. This Hawk Owl is almost suspended in mid air tracking prey. Amazing. I wanted the painting to have an element of tension to represent the moment just before she swoops in on her target.
