This is where the Wings collection began. In December 2008 my good friend Judee Regan died suddenly and by herself. She had emailed me that morning and I felt I was too busy to respond to her right then. I remember feeling annoyed and that she had uncharacteristically made spelling errors in her email. I also remember feeling an enormous amount of guilt and sorrow when I heard she had died of a stroke after sending that email. To me. Following her death there was a celebration of her life at The Inn at the Forks. When I parked there was a barn owl with a broken wing sitting in a tree by the river. The service was powerful and moving and when I returned to my car the owl was still there.
Several weeks later I saw a barn owl carcass by the river trail and I was overcome with grief.
Judee had suffered from the loss of movement in her right arm for many years before she died. She was also an amazing woman with great wisdom that I never got to thank for all she taught me and all she did for me.
She is with me.
