Little One

Littleone_2008 This is Little One. (click to enlarge).  This is a long story - and a personal piece. When I was in labour with Pilot - Dan and I watched The March of the Penguins. We listened to their stories and their love and when Pilot was born - she had black hair and made the sounds of the baby penguins. In that moment - we became a family unit - just like the penguins.... and like these birds when I was in recovery - Dan, the ultimate father penguin, completely took over  protecting and loving and providing for her. Like penguins.  So much so - that I almost felt like I wasn't needed...  So many similarities with these penguins. Penguins are black and white - which are the colours I love. Dan and Pilot are the people I love...

Welcome.

Welcome_2007_2 This is Welcome. (click to enlarge). I'm trying to make nice with reds and pinks. I didn't have a plan for this - but, wanted something as you enter our living space to welcome - the visitors we currently get - as well as the very important, anxiously awaited new person visitor we anticipate any day. Reindeer - always a magestic and strange seasonal animal seemed the perfect fit under a large tree with 'open arms' to welcome the season, our friends and families, and all other goodness into our home and hearts.
