Kbtinyart_52_2008     This is Tiny Art 52. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... Yoga is so beautiful - in so many ways. I can feel the day-to-day hardening my muscles into stiff sticks. I don't do yoga - but, I used to - and I think I should get into a practice of stretching and softening AND HEALING how I feel about this old body. I think yoga is beautiful.

Kbtinyart_51_2008     This is Tiny Art 51. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... This was a biproduct of spending a lot of time sitting on the floor in front of the mirror to play with Pilot. In school we would use the very old-school technique of drawing ourselves in the mirror to play with reality and what we imagine. I think sometimes I imagine that I'm thinner than I actually am...

Kbtinyart_50_2008     This is Tiny Art 50. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... I like this one. The colours are pretty amazing in real life. I guess with all of the Tiny Art ladies - I see myself. I see and find little parts of the different ideas that I've experienced or struggled with, too... This particular one - was purely about the liberating feeling of letting go of all the critical things we rattle around in our brains and loving ourselves. It feels good to do that. I should do that more often. (**50 Milestone!)

Kbtinyart_49_2008     This is Tiny Art 49. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... This piece was totally inspired by these three little old ladies that walk by my house everyday. They've known each other for 50 years - since they were in their late teens. I love that they have been through so much - and they are all so different for it.

This piece was inspired by a little bit of the cheeky  better attitude that shines through from time to time... it's for those really great days when you look in the mirror and love it. All of it.

Kbtinyart_47_2008    This is Tiny Art 47. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... This particular lady piece was inspired a bit by an email conversation with Tara Whitney and a little bit about all that jazz. She is holding a camera because Tara's a photographer BUT ALSO BECAUSE I read a lot about the women - the MOM'S - who spend so much time taking and seeing the beauty in their everyday that they CAN'T SEE THEMSELVES... and just how beautiful they are.

Kbtinyart_46_2008    This is Tiny Art 46. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... Sometimes it isn't easy to explain or understand or even fathom - the way we feel about ourselves... I see that first hand on the days I'm feeling particularly bad about myself and Dan thinks I am being an alien beautiful. It's just really hard to explain.

They are for sale: $100 for the original OR $30 for laser reproduction on smooth coated paper. Email me to purchase them.

Kbtinyart_43_2008   This is Tiny Art 43. (click to enlarge). This piece was inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... It's so easy to see the beauty in everyone around us. I see it everywhere... but, the last place I ever look is inside myself. Especially since having my daughter. Oh my goodness - I have watched the body I struggle to love - become even more difficult to see past. Yet, when I see Pilot - I am overcome by the beauty and miracle of giving life...

Kbtinyart_44_2008   This is Tiny Art 44. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'...  I love this girl - because she's unapologetic. She's how I strive to be. She's not making excuses. She's not comparing her waist size to her friend's or her magazines. She's happy. She's just standing there - letting it all be - and letting you get a good look at what it is to look confidently  in the face of beauty. So much beauty.

They are for sale: $100 for the original OR $30 for laser reproduction on smooth coated paper. Email me to purchase them.

Kbtinyart_45_2008   This is Tiny Art 45. (click to enlarge). This piece was also inspired by Tiny Art  31 and all of the response to the 'pink lady'... She looks thoughtful and sad. She feels doubtful. This is the fear and sadness that I think everyone fights with from time to time. I know I do. I'm not as pretty or slim or even strong as I'd like to be... Letting another person see these insecurities and imperfections is hard - terrifying sometimes. I know what it is to feel irreparable and unlovable - and afraid I will be rejected for those things. This painting was like tapping into an old part of my life and realizing a million times over how wonderful it is to be in this moment. The purple lady has a special place in my past heart.
