Mid-afternoon update.

Yes! I'm totally pumped after a super-casual ten minute photo shoot with Cole. He was working it and totally loving being in front of the camera today. Whew. In less than ten minutes - I rattled off enough shots to capture a little bit of the monkey's true personality. I love, love, LOVE that he was hanging out at our place. I love the black in the photos because I love that real coal is black. I LOVE how grown up he looks and I am just BEAMING with pride for my very adorable godson. I was taken by surprise. I got an email this morning - requesting to purchase Mavis. Wow. It's always a good day when you sell a painting. I just wasn't expecting to feel SO SAD about seeing this painting go. It's one of my favourites. It's Dan's hands-down favourite and I immediately called him expecting that he'd say NO WAY and I wouldn't have to sell her. But, even after some humming and hawing he didn't and it's probably for the best because we've got the high res image anyways. PLUS, she's going to a good great home... none other than a live-person named Mavis (a partner in Lucky Dog Bicsuits).

Black seemed to be the theme this morning. I got a surprise in the mail! Actually - I bought it - so it wasn't a surprise, but I forgot - so it kinda was. It's a key fob from Black Bags. It's gorgeous. Go check out the site and buy something goregous for yourself! (For the record, this was one of the easiest online sales I've ever done AND the final product IS EVEN NICER than the online photo. WORTH IT.)

Thank-you Dan and Kal for giving her up. I am SUPER lucky to have an original Kal painting for my house. I know it seems a bit cheesey to buy a picture with my name on it but when coincidences like that happen (and with a name like Mavis - I can't even find a keychain with my name on it) - you just have to go with the flow. Plus I love nature pictures so I really just had to get it. You have unlimited visitation rights if you miss her.

I am SOOOOO excited. Happy (early) birthday to me, happy birthday to ME....
