It's a beautiful Saturday morning and we have nothing on the to-do list. Nothing. We just devoured Dan's FAMOUS giant crabapple pancake and now the dogs, the man and the girl (that's me) are chilling reading online papers and watching the garage sale across the street unload their junk on unsuspecting neighbours.
I love the colours in the background of that shot of Duke. He's the little Boston Terrier that we are sitting this weekend and he's an utter doll. If you are looking for a small barely-shedding, easy, funny-as-heck dog for your family - try a Boston. He comes from a family of 2 big people and 4 small ones - so I think our house is a little quiet for him. But, he's keeping us entertained and we are all having a hilarious time.
Yesterday - among many other things, I worked on a bunch of cool little custom promotion cards for Parker&Pika. I think they're kind of funny. I'm sending a few to the people around town that I'd like to have in my portfolio.
It's not Monday - but, since their whole family is busied by wedding stuff today and they're likely NOT reading this blog - I thought I'd give you a peak at the commissioned threesome from last week. A very special bride wanted some custom pieces for herself and her two sisters. she wanted the theme to be PIE. That's what they call themselves. Partners In Everything. I tried to do something simple and modern and a little wee bit LoveLife-ish since I know a little bit about their backgrounds. The phrase I thought that pulled it together... "Oh, we love life - the sweetest bits and even the parts that are hard to swallow. We are partners in everything and we call that PIE." Totally sweet. Totally cool.
Today: We're off now - on a relaxing, wandering, dog-park, grocery getting adventure. It's a long weekend - but, all of the weekends this summer were long weekends for us... so it's a regular weekend and we are off to make the most of it. Enjoy! And go.
