I got so much done yesterday I even impressed myself. HOWEVER, the two very, very major things that I didn't tackle successfully were the paintings and the post office. Oh, hey, hey, hey - I sat there in a quiet house with a brush in hand for a very long time... but all I ended up feeling was IRRITATED and thirsty and AGITATED and itchy so I tackled the rest of my TO-DO list instead. The above shot is the reflection of Pilot and I in a puddle. I have been doing an AWESOME job keeping up with organizing and editing our shots of Pilot and that just reminded me that I have been doing a horrible job of getting a monthly photo with just the two of us. I NEED TO GET ON IT.
A definite highlight of our day was meeting Janine Hanson in person. FOR REAL. (Thanks for bringing her over Jessica!) Janine is the OLYMPIC ROWER. Well, she's much, much more than that but, if I had to describe her in two words that set her apart from say Dan or myself - the words OLYMPIC and ROWER would work perfectly. You would not confuse us. I suppose I could also say TALL and LEAN as opposed to INCREDIBLY ROUND, but I think that OLYMPIC ROWER will do. Go Team Canada Go. She's nicer than she looks on TV because on TV she kind of looks like a grouch with a furrowed brow. I'm kidding. She was ten times nicer and cooler than I imagined she'd be and I'm so happy we got to meet. And so was Pilot.
Pilot did, in fact, seem a little star struck being in the presence of athletic greatness, but that did not stop her from offering Janine some racing advice (or at least that's what it looks like in this photo). That's my girl. I love this shot. I just love it. Thanks for coming by Janine. Anytime. Please come back anytime.
I couldn't resist posting this pretty shot... MOST of the time Pilot looks like Pilot to me. Cranky bits and odd expressions and dirty face and all that I love about her. BUT, every now and again I see her like I might for the FIRST TIME and I am completely in awe that this little pretty person and I are related.
I also couldn't resist a little shout-out to Botanical PaperWorks. We were at the bookstore on the weekend and ran into a little display of plantable stuff that Botanical Paperworks makes. That I designed for them. 'Tis the season. THESE THINGS MAKE GREAT GIFTS. Give smart with handmade, plantable papers that leave nothing behind, but flowers.
Today: I'm going to try this again... PAINTING. I think the best way to get right down to business might be to stop for a coffee on my way home from getting Pilot to the Nanny. Not exactly sure how to trick my brain into believing it's painting time... BUT there will be paintings to post for tomorrow OR I WILL BE REALLY FRICKIN' MAD. I picked up the Tiny Art 96 prints yesterday so we are READY TO ROLL with those. LOOK. OUT. POST. OFFICE. Hurray Wednesday. We can do this.
Let's GO!
