Hi Saturday. You might not know what this is, BUT IT'S A HONEYCRISP APPLE. I KNOW. I was shocked, too. Last night, very, very sweet Jessica dropped in with a special delivery FOR ME from SHANNON KROEKER. A honeycrisp apple. A HONEYCRISP APPLE. My first reaction was a SQUEAL OF DELIGHT. My second thought was WHERE DID SHE GET THIS - I MUST GO BUY MORE. So I asked.
And the answer was Fargo, ND. That's FAR from here. That's actually a different country. THAT'S A HECK OF A GIFT IF YOU ASK ME. Thank you SO MUCH, Shannon. Thank you. Because today was the perfect day for this gift. Not only have I been dreaming about these apples and pining over these apples for a whole year - last night was a long, long night with a sick baby and today is gearing up to be a long, long day shooting a wedding. At the fanciest place in town. NOT SOMETHING I NORMALLY DO. And not something I probably would have agreed to if I knew I would be 5 months pregnant, sporting a cold, a terribly sore back and running on an hour or so of sleep....
So I feel like I'm in a little bit over my head and that's the BEST TIME to whip out my Bulletproof Positive Attitude card. It's not that big of a deal if you break it down: it's just a series of photos. I'm backing up to the simplest form and taking out my favourite old lens and slower approach... and a vanilla latte or three. They're not asking me in invent something new - they're asking me to see what's special about them.
THAT'S something I can always do.
Today: In less than 12 hours I will be home and I will be sinking my teeth into that honeycrisp apple. Thanks Shannon. Just what I needed. Thank you so much!
