Okay. Don't tell Dan, but we generally just play the day away until he gets home. I'm just kidding, but we sure did a lot of playing yesterday. This hat was a gift from Adam & Jessica from Disneyland. It was WAY too big when they gave it to Pilot, but we eyed that sucker while we were playing games today and wouldn't you know it - IT FITS LIKE A GLOVE. Best part: she was loving the bad-ass ears. Mickey would be SO PROUD.
I had all kinds of nice things to say about Fall colours and all that jazz, but the sugary gooey post-words have been pre-empted to say GET ON BOARD WITH HEALTH, CHINA. I mean COME ON. Melamine in Cadbury chocolate? In dog food? In baby food? I am only one small person so please do not aim your nuclear weapons at me, but GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. (Enough about that. I will keep my plastics-in-foods and lead-in-paints fuming to myself.) On to brighter things...
To the left: We are gearing up for winter here and I have been WAITING FOR 10 MONTHS to get Pilot into her Stonz boots. Courtesy of a baby gift from Randy & Sandra - these boots are the best thing since sliced bread (and to a now gluten-intolerant sliced bread ain't so hot anymore). They are fleece-filled and go OVER (or not) shoes or boots. They were easy to get ON so I was loving them. They didn't fall off so I was REALLY LOVING them. And how cool is this Hawaiian print? I'm totally loving them. Made in Canada. My number one choice for a baby gift (and you don't have to live in Canada to use them - they are perfect for all weather.)
To the right: I cannot resist a cute hat or toque. (This ADORABLE pink alien toque is from Superstore: $4.)
And one more pic for good measure. Lucky for ME - Tammy popped in for a much-needed visit and snapped a shot of me and P-Diddy hanging out. It was a great day and much needed for me. The mysetery of Pilot's weekend crankiness was solved during some swing-her-upside-down moments this afternoon. FIVE NEW TEETH POKING THROUGH. Wow. I knew she was hardcore, but that's awesome.
Today: Pilot is off to the nanny and I've got a serious line-up of stuff to do. I'm stopping at Starbucks to pick up a BIG latte and hitting the ground running. I'm not even going to fight it. I did 4 very cool sketches yesterday during her morning nap and they need to be complete. I have the wedding shots to finish. I have a photo session from last night to get to. Design work. A couple new paintings on the tip of my brain AND ONE SNAPPY SHOWER. NO INTERNET. NO PHONE. That ought to keep me busy for a little while... I'm pumped about the chance to make some stuff.
See ya later September - you've been great. Sweet deal. Sorry about the latte, Dan - it's the cost of keeping my GO on. Git. GO!
