Hi Friday! It looks like the most amazing day out there. This image is a detail from THIS Tiny Art painting* that got snatched up by a very special buyer yesterday. Dan. It's icecream on the Thursday cake when your husband sends you a note asking if he can buy (NOT WORK OFF or BORROW or just HAVE) his two favourite Tiny Arts to hang in his office. 100 and 101. That warmed my heart and almost made me forget all about his trail of mess and destruction. ;) Thank you, Dan. Thanks.
*There is something that I LOVE about the lines and paths of these pieces. There is no plan no peeking and no rhyme - just a long smooth lines that creates and image. Like a long smooth (okay, rarely smooth) path creates a life.
Pilot and I did an incredibly productive errand-run yesterday and stopped at the art store to refuel my watercolour paper stash. Once again, I'm never looking for the best paper on the block - I'm looking for the paper that allows me the freedom to USE IT WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY. There's a whole different feel to a piece that you attack with wreckless abandon. It's better. I also picked up a bunch of new Prismacolor pencil crayon colours.... IN RICH BROWNS, purples and creams. I know - I was surprised by those colour choices, too. Must be the season. ;) I have been hankering for chai lattes and cinnamon spice...
100 TINY ARTS AND COUNTING: Thanks for all the nice things you had to
say about making this milestone. My goal, is to get to 150 by
Christmas... I hate to say it outloud because IT'S A LOT - but that's my style:
shoot high. I feel like fall has brought us a better groove and both Pilot and myself are enjoying our 2.5 days a week of sweet, sweet Nanny time AND IT SHOWS.
LONELY LADY: I was straightening up some art and I found a poor, lonely Tiny Art Lady. NOT a custom piece - one of the ORIGINAL group of women who inspired the custom rush. This one. She's the ONLY one left and I certainly got to feeling very, very bad for her sitting here all by herself... Poor thing. Any takers?
THANK YOU TO THE RASPBERRY FAIRY: I came home yesterday afternoon to find two SURPRISE giant tubs of fresh farm raspberries that had been left for us by an anonymous AWESOME PERSON NAMED ERIN STANHOPE. (Thank you Erin!) Raspberries are BY FAR my favourite berry and fresh-from-the-farm is pure greatness. Thank you.
HONEYCRISP APPLES: They are still not here. I check everyday. I call the grocery store. EVERY. DAY. And I would TOTALLY APPRECIATE IT if you would NOT send me emails telling me that YOU HAVE THEM AND AREN'T THEY JUST THE BEST THING ON THIS EARTH. Okay Keri? Paulette assures me the apples are coming and that this year is the best EVER. I KNOW her wonderful, wonderful, apple-growing husband Blake is working hard TO GET ME MY APPLES. HURRY UP, BLAKE. He is the best.
Today: I am going to live the day away like a lady of leisure with a busy baby. (So not leisurely at all.) I am still in a refueling-mode and with a busy, busy weekend ahead of me I want to take it a bit easier than usual so I don't get myself all stressed out and worked up. Big day tomorrow. I'll just tell ya that I can't wait for it to be Sunday night. I'm trying to keep my stress to a minimum for the next two weeks - because after that we're heading to the land of aloha - and my favourite place on earth. Until then - there are a LOT of photoshoots and editing and things to do and work to coordinate and blah, blah, blah stuff we like to call life.
But today - I'm keeping my eyes on the palm trees and soft sand. Aloha. Terrific Friday in store. GO!
