Only my brother will think the title to this post is funny. My mom used to call us that when we were apparently not sitting very gently, like say a half tonne tennie, on her couch. I still don't know what a tennie IS, but I sit very, very softly on all types of sofas. ANYWAYS. We made it out and about yesterday in a VERY anti-climactic adventure. It was kind of rainy and dreary and that made Pilot pro-nap and that threw off our routine and THAT just sort of chucked a wrench in this big fluffy pipe dream that I had to go adventuring.
In the spirit of 10-on-Tuesdays - here are some our shots BUT I am going to call this the TUESDAY-TEN-TROPOLIS just to be different...
Basically, we drove around and decided that it might be nice to have ice cream for lunch because it does less damage to my guts than say soup and a sandwich. They were serving pumpkin pie soft icecream and that sounded like something we should try. It was okay. We walked around and fed ducks and found an interesting sculpture nestled on the river's edge. All of which sounds very dreamy - BUT REALLY IT WASN'T because the cheapy umbrella stroller was impossible to steer with an icecream in my hand and a tired baby buckled in so we just veered back and forth like MOANING DRUNKS until we had both had enough 'adventuring' for one day. Ooooops!
Today: Pilot is Nannyfied till 3pm. I've got a long list of things to get to including a shower, a trip to the printers, a stop a the framers, a minute at the post office, a whip through the coffee drive-thru AND HOPEFULLY A PAINTING OR TWO. Oh, and some charity work. And real work. A trip to the optometrists. A trip to drop off a photo album. Three loads of laundry. Light bulbs for the back yard lights.... And there's probably no FRICKIN' way I'm gonna get all of this stuff done - but, I'm certainly going to try.
Alright. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. GO!
