Hi Friday - you sneaky bugger, you. No better day than a Friday to talk about a little GIFT GIVING and wish lists. This is a holiday goodness list... some of the things I've been thinking about for Christmas. Some of the things that would make great gifts FOR ME. Some things I already KNOW I love and I think they would make GREAT GIFTS FOR EVERYONE ELSE. Some things I'd like to give. And some things are just good. A GOODNESS list all prettied up and fancy-looking for a Friday. Let's do this.
Kal's GOODNESS LIST...
- GIFT FOR ME: Bumble and Bumble is my favourite line of hair products. I have sad, fine soft hair that does NOT get better as it gets dirty - it just gets DIRTY and greasy. I love B&B Thickening Spray (and I'm currently out) and I want to try the SURF spray because I think it's just what my hair needs now that it is growing back.
- GIFT FOR ME: This is Kerri Parker's Linguine Ring in silver. I don't wear jewelry other than my incredibly special wedding band, but this would be nice to try on my right hand to cover up a bright pink scar from a broken blood vessel apparently FROM BEING PREGNANT. It is beautiful (the RING not the scar).
- GREAT GIFT TO GIVE: I have this reusable bag from Flip & Tumble. I love it. Not only is it awesomely strong - it folds into this cool little ball that doubles as an excellent toy when I'm trying to entertain Pilot while we are out and about. Score.
- GREAT GIFT TO GIVE: LoveLife Magnets. Wow. In about a weeks time you will be able to buy from the LoveLife Magnet Collection RIGHT HERE. Yes. And ONLY HERE. We are now the exclusive carriers of a very limited supply. Once we run out - they are gone, gone, gone. Watch for a post next week with the details and HOW-TO-BUY. Dan will make sure they get shipped out in time for Christmas. Love him!
- GREAT GIFT TO GIVE: I am IN LOVE this these sippy cups. SafeSippy. Gorgeous. SAFE. Tough. Not overly expensive. These make an excellent gifts for someone with a small person. They make excellent gifts for small people themselves. Pilot LOVES hers. (I'd also like to mention that SafeSippy has EXCELLENT customer service. I lost the valve from the lid and they shipped me new ones THE SAME DAY. Very cool.)
- GIFT FOR PILOT: She's just getting into these guys, but one of her favourite books right now is an awesome Charlie & Lola pop up book. These little characters are so sweet. I am just being introduced to their awesomeness now. SO FUNNY. I want to get Pilot every book.
- GIFT FOR ME OR PILOT: Our house has been completely ATTACKED by stuffed animals. These cool bags from BOON act like big soft chairs, but are actually the home to your stuffed animals. The Otto Animal Bag. This works out great on two fronts in our house - ONE the animals can stop taking over every inch of our living space and TWO the soft tempting little critters will no longer be in danger of being eaten by Crash. SO COOL. I have a slight BOON addiction.
- GREAT GIFT FOR ME: The Nike iTunes kit. I know, I know - a while back I got myself a stroller-odometer for tracking my miles and that was silly because it doesn't work if it's raining or cold or dirty or windy OR BEING USED. The Nike iTunes combo is what I should have bought in the first place to get me motivated and MOVING. Once Baby2 is here I'm on a mission to get strong and fit again.
- GREAT GIFT FOR ME: A big, black barn star. From here. I am having a love affair with stars right now which is better than a love affair with pornography or poker or something silly like that SO I WILL INDULGE MYSELF RECKLESSLY (I actually just ordered this).
- GREAT GIFT FOR EVERYONE: When in doubt get a Starbuck's card... or get a gift certificate for a local coffee shop - whatever. Seriously. Starbucks is nice (for new moms like me) because I don't have to get a heavily bundled and strapped in small person out of the car. I CAN DRIVE THRU.
- GREAT GIFT FOR GUYS: I wouldn't have believed it, but this popcorn popper rocks. We got one for our wedding and DAN USES IT EVERYDAY. AND his popcorn is so delicious it rivals his coffee. He loves this thing and it would make a good gift for the men you know who love popcorn.
- GREAT GIFT FOR LADIES: OH, Lilla-P... This is a beautiful little number that I have had my eye on for some time. No, they do not ship to Canada, but that has never stopped me before. I have a TERRIBLE habit of buying things for myself (even before Christmas) when I'm pretty sure that Dan will not be on board with my gift suggestion. C'est la vie. I think it's wonderful (in GREY). And I think that my tired pregnant body needs to be wrapped in goodness.
- GREAT GIFT FOR EVERYONE: To quote Dan, 'this is just precious'. Papersource has these in their Gift-Guide section. I thought it was a pinecone (which I love), but it's an artichoke. Whoooops.
- GREAT GIFT FOR DAN: Oh my goodness. Dan makes about 300 cups of tea per week. I am not kidding. That guy LOVES his hot beverages. I think this would make great tea for him and be fun to use. Our current tea pot is NOT FUN FOR HIM TO USE because he STILL DOESN'T KNOW that it just spills if you fill it too FULL. Men.
- GREAT GIFT FOR ME: The Pebble Rug from EQ3.
- GREAT GIFT FOR ME OR DAN: Malcom Gladwell is one of my favourite authors. If you haven't read Blink SHUT OFF YOUR COMPUTER RIGHT NOW AND GO DO THAT. I am looking forward to getting a brain-building book after a long string of not-my-normal-reads from bookclub.
- GREAT GIFT TO GIVE: Chalkboard paint. I have finally finished my main floor design plan and it consists of a very large wall being painted entirely in chalkboard paint. PURE LOVE.
- GREAT GIFT TO GIVE ANYONE: A cheap, simple, super-duper IKEA picture frame. I got a delivery of these and now I just need to DECIDE which pictures to put in them. VERY cool.
- GREAT GIFT TO GIVE EVERYONE: If you made it this far through the list - then I'm happy to announce that my birch tree painting will be making a holiday debut in the form of some special prints and such. I will be POSTING IT. I will be releasing the details on Monday morning. Don't miss out on this one.
Any and all of these things would make me SMILE in a big way. But, so would a nice hug.
Today: Pilot and I are off for breakfast with Tammy. We will see how that goes because Pilot's been doing some weird waking in the night and crying and shuffling of her early bird schedule that I was getting used to. She's getting up EVEN EARLIER. SO. I'm tired. I'm pooped. I'm SO HAPPY it's Friday. I'm looking for coffee like some kind of JUNKIE. I'm loving the snow outside. I'm fighting the urge to paint and INSTEAD I am nurturing the urge to cuddle with Pilot. We are going to take a load of electronics to MEC because they will RECYCLE them (it's a NO-NO to throw electronics in the garbage). We are also going to get groceries so Dan and I can have a DATE-NIGHT-IN tonight and not have to eat hotdogs. Sweet.
I'll leave you with these happy weekend thoughts: LOVE LIFE MAGNETS and BIRCH TREES and WARM HEARTS.
Oh, and - leave me a comment with a link or something from YOUR own Goodness List and Monday morning I'll announce a couple people to RECEIVE a LoveLife Magnet gift of their own.
Hey November - WHAT'S THE RUSH???? Goodness is Friday. Let's GO!
