THANK GOODNESS. I wondered if Friday would get here. This week seemed extra long and I'm tired of complaining about it. It seemed like NO ONE could sleep - not me OR PILOT. Not during the night OR the day. (Dan doesn't count - he could sleep in a popcorn maker.) Not in a crib or a bed. Not in a house or with a mouse. Or on a train. Or EFFIN' BLEEPIN' ANYWHERE or FOR ANY REASON and that made for some silly situations due to fatigue. (NO. We did not make it to the zoo. BOO.) [She is back to coughing up a lung and then moaning and groaning about it for three hours or so at night.]
Yesterday, I left Pilot with my AWESOME NEIGHBOURS (thank you so much Bonnie & Tim!) and headed downtown for my 38 week OBGYN appointment. Which, it turned out was running behind by 45 minutes. Which meant I had a few moments to go around the corner and sit in Starbuck's sippin' some Berry Chai and pondering life. Which was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed a quiet half hour in my own head and almost curled up on the comfy chair and took a nap.
No other REAL progress to report. I didn't even unload the dishwasher. All around - it was a disappointing effort from me yesterday. I hope to turn that around over the next couple of days because I LIKE TO BE PRODUCTIVE. It makes me feel good.
OH HEY - Dan is hashing numbers for the YOU ARE AWESOME PRINTS. CUSTOM STUFF. It's tough to decide what to offer. It's tough to figure out exactly what to do because the costs of printing single oversized stuff is sometimes a bit prohibitive. BUT. We have a plan and we're going to come to an agreement and unveil how it will work on Monday AND I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW that they are so beautiful, they will be available for a limited time, they aren't just for nurseries, it's custom work - so you know it's me sitting here making something special just for you and making sure that it's just right. MONDAY: watch for the announcement.
Today: Since Pilot is boycotting sleep - I am going to rock her around town all day. Bring it on P Diddy. We are going to errands until that little girl falls asleep standing up. Costco. ICI Paints. Safeway. ToysRUs. Old Navy. Future Shop. It's GO TIME. I have tried all kinds of other things when her eyes get sleepy at her usual times but THIS WEEK as soon as she was in her crib she PERKED RIGHT UP - bouncing around barking like a dog, trying wrestling moved on her pillow, shrieking like a mother-effin' monkey and banging on the walls. It was making my blood boil. Didn't seem to matter how long I wait either. 15 minutes. 30 minutes. 45 minutes. Yesterday I let her do that for 1 hour and 15 minutes and STILL SHE WAS NOT ASLEEP. SO - today I will try Plan B and it's called ANYTHING YOU CAN DO - I CAN DO BETTER. AND THEN Dan and I are cuddling up on the couch and starting off what looks like a balmy, beautiful weekend. SWEET.
Alright. I'm bringing Friday to his knees. GO!
