Hello big, full day. LOTS OF GO. Lots of give. Lots to do. Lots of LOVE.

The GO part. Last week Elise Blaha asked me if I was up for another GOventure Challenge. And I said Heck ya, but let's make it EPIC.
Starting Monday we will be challenging each other to create outstanding works of art-of-some-kind to shake up our creative chakras and get inspiration flowing in the right directions. Paper crafts, paintings, photos, videos, interpretive dance, scrapbooks, layouts, sculpture, anything goes. I so love Elise. She's a crafty kinda gal and she got all techno-into-the-future and invented a FLICKR group and we are officially encouraging the rest of the world to play along. That's the EPIC part. Involving people. SHARING creativity. Being part of something bigger than just one brain. Appreciating differences + perspectives + souls + crafts + ideas. And GO. It works like this: we will announce a WORD PROMPT - and then the following day post our best and most inspired solution. Easy. Some will be grand. Some may be simple. It's simply about getting yourself to GO somewhere new - anything goes.
We challenge you.I wonder if the world's creativity quotient was increased - what amazing solutions could be found. Elise told me Monday's word is WANDER. I love it. Let's do this. The DO part. I am doing everything in my power to make the yoga mat from yesterdays post (yes, it was a yoga mat!) and a couple of other cool yoga mat designs available to order. When I know something - you will know something.

The LOVE part. I can only take orders for the customizable ADD-LOVE prints until Monday February 1st morning at 12:01am. (I need to make sure I can get them done + shipped in time for Valentine's Day). That means there are only a couple of days left to get your order in - which means you should do that soon. LIKE TODAY. The prints are lovely. Actually, they are better than lovely - they are awesome, awesome, awesome and make the perfect gift/keepsake/memento. The ADD-LOVE SIGG water bottles were selling like hot cakes and then they cooled. We're stuck at $158 worth of proceeds OF WHICH I AM DONATING 100% TO THE RED CROSS Relief Fund for Haiti. I wanted to be able to donate $200. Let's spread love.

I'm working on a painting AND I'm percolating my creative masterpiece for Monday's GO-venture Challenge with Elise (and you). Our WORD PROMPT is WANDER. I'd like to pretend that I'm not drinking coffee, but I definitely, definitely, definitely am - doubles today because I have two little girls with sad winter colds, coughs and long nights and snorty noses. Smooch.
Don't go thinking that I have petered out on the ADD-LOVE front. MUCH GOODNESS IS SWIRLING HERE. I was working on some radical yoga mats last night and a skateboard deck this morning. And a duvet cover. The world is a wide open oyster for custom printing and personalized awesomeness these days - which really just means that someone has been listening to my prayers. My love cannot be contained + I am inspired beyond belief. January does that. Most folks ask how people can stand living in places that are so cold for so long... If you ask me - it's not so much WHERE you live - but, what lives inside you.

Today: I have three important meetings layered heavily with work, paint + design. My first meeting is with coffee + Elise Blaha because we have been inspired to create something EPIC. EPIC. It will be AMAZING. I have a date with my old self. The evening is reserved for a healthy catch up with my good friend who just got back from ANTARCTICA. We're chatting over antioxidants in the forms wine + chocolate. I also have a series of good things to get ready for a week of ADD-LOVE giveaways - because January was awesome - but February will kick ass.

This is uncommonly awesome.
Let's talk about the cases. I fell pretty hard for their site. It's beautiful. It's easy. It's $39.95 (US) for a beautiful case and they are so fast you will not believe it. But, what I really like about UNCOMMON is that I ordered a case (pictured above) and when I totally got SHAFTED on UPS brokerage and duties fees - UNCOMMON CONTACTED ME TO MAKE THINGS BETTER. Not only are they starting a new shipping system for Canadians (thank you UNCOMMON), but they are going to make MY above design available in their HAITI RELIEF COLLECTION (as soon as I get the proper stuff uploaded). ALL PROCEEDS TO HAITI RELIEF (through the Red Cross). No proceeds to me. No proceeds to UNCOMMON. VERY, VERY, VERY AWESOME. I heart companies that get it. Thank you Ryan from UNCOMMON.

Today: We are sitting amongst the remnants of yesterday's big blizzard storm. Snow everywhere. LOTS. The temperatures have plummeted. The girls and I are going to head out later on an adventure this morning. But, first - we are going to hang out in our pajamas and watch Winnie The Pooh so I can finish my coffee and get fully prepared to meet the day.

Aww.
Oh, Norman. This is my first experience with a French Bulldog of any kind and even though his puppiness exasperates me from time to time - he's a good dog and it wouldn't be the same around here without him. I like him. He loves to sit on laps. He's great with the girls (and by that I mean he is the happy recipient of many piledrivers every single day). I heart you Norman.
January Bulletin Board.
Oh, the January Bulletin Board. I love fresh + new + inspired. Twenty-five days into 2010 and I am feeling a lot of love. The temperatures have been mild + awesome. The girls have been fun + moderately happy. The dogs have been good. Dan has been humouring my gluten-free cooking and life is good. The days have flying by. Slow down 2010.
At the moment I really, really love:
MY NEW iPHONE CASE. Alright. I was a little thrown by the UPS customs fees and I didn't get a chance to appreciate just how awesome the case itself is. THANK YOU UNCOMMON. It's great! I am officially in love with it. I will have an update on that tomorrow.
The HIM+HER and YOU+ME prints. Oh, these prints are so sweet. I have been really enjoying putting the orders together and hearing your stories of love. I have a giveaway this week.

RETRO BATHING SUITS. So here's a funny story. I decided that the only clothing I would allow myself to spend money on in 2010 is a new bathing suit. I went to the big stores and tried on all of the suits with ruching + ruffles + squishing + concealing and resigned to the fact that to get a good bathing suit that would hide my lumps, bumps and extra skin I would need to spend $150. Which was okay with me because REALLY WHAT IS THE COST TO FEEL GOOD PRANCING AROUND NEARLY NAKED? Before committing to a bathing suit - I decided to take a peek on good old Ebay. Knowing I NEVER win Ebay auctions I bid on every great, brand name suit I could find. Well - WHOOPS. I WON THEM ALL. I won 7 suits. Total cost to me: $158 including shipping. One bathing suit for everyday that we will be in Kauai next month. That's hardcore.
Today: I am packing up the first round of ADD-LOVE prints. I am going to head out on an excursion to round up more of my favourite paints. I have a cup of coffee with my name on it and hopefully I can make a little magic happen so I can post more good stuff right here tomorrow. AWESOME.

Hmmmm.
Hmmmm is right... I have mixed feelings about my UNCOMMON iPhone case. The case itself is really nice, but slippery like a bar of soap. The printing is good enough. The site was easy to use. AND HOLY CRAP they were fast. BUT. UPS gets three thumbs down for the extra $36 in brokerage fees I had to pay - which totally left me feeling a lack of LOVE for this little experiment in love + design. Total cost to me: $40 + $15 + $36 = $91. That's hardcore. Verdict: not cool for Canadians.
But, I sure have a nice looking iPhone case.
What colour is happy?
Friday already. WOW. This has been such a fun week. I have felt inspired and fired up by so many ideas. I can't stop my brain and I am so pumped about the things that transpired from a week of creativity-fireworks. I love that. Yesterday - the girls and I layed low. We coloured + read books. We went out for a long walk in the mild + amazing temperatures. Dogs et all. I'm pretty sure Pilot gave me her sickness germs. It was a nice way to gain a little momentum, perspective and live in the moment because at the root of it all - those two small people are the biggest part of what makes life around here so awesome.

Today: I have a beautiful little french press filled with coffee sitting at my work station and the day is cleared for me to do nothing but work, work, work. I will enjoy the hum of the washing machine. I will not be checking emails until noon and I have banned myself from online shopping and/or blog reading until my TO-DO list is a crumpled little pile at my feet. Awesome.
