I was wandering yesterday. To and fro. Trying to absorb everything and find inspiration everywhere I went. I found myself at a cool shop I like to pop into every now and then. It's called the Old House Revival Company. They heart the stuff from old houses. Me, too. I found a couple of interesting things that I wasn't expecting. 1. Coloured chandeliers. I love them and I want to put some in the girls rooms. 2. Old doors. NOT JUST ANY OLD DOORS - I was shocked to recognize a couple of doors from house90! A week ago I tagged a few of my favourites and let the contractors do what they wished with the rest. I'm glad they ended up somewhere they will be appreciated. 3. A typecase from an old newspaper FULL of metal type. 4. Weird mugs. Hmmmm. Seriously? Who made these things thinking they were a good idea? 5. Crates of love. Best find of the day: 2 old and awesome crates that will become end tables at house90. 6. Coloured chandeliers. I was really, really digging them. 7. Books. Classic old books with that classic and kind of yucky old book smell.
I was in search of some vintage industrial lighting to inspire me... but I left thinking that I should really try to save the oak banister at house90. It's not gonna be easy. Oy. Back to the drawing board.
Today: I'm trying to think of a relatively kid friendly place that is going to inspire me and exhaust my small people. That's not gonna be easy either!
GO!.
