Hey Monday - let's make a mess. I have been using the brand new carpet in my painting studio as an excuse not to paint. I'm not one to wreck things on purpose and I'm pretty sure that the old owners had NO IDEA the third floor would become a creative hack centre when they put the light coloured brand new berber in place. Either way - the carpet was not working for me BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO WRECK IT. And then I had a little "chat" with myself to arrive at the conclusion that the carpet is now my property and new or old - it has no value to me (or anyone else for the matter because that shit is GLUED to the pretty hardwoods it is sitting on top of) SO I AM NOT AFRAID OF IT ANYMORE. I am not a sheep living in a pretty place where I am not at home. I am not concerned about resale values. I am not concerned about what visitors might think. I am not worried about setting a bad example for my small people. I am not worried about wrecking the carpet that is wrecking my creative mojo. Screw the carpet! WHEW. That feels GOOD to say. SCREW THE CARPET and BRING ON THE PAINT.
(I am not talking about the pretty area rug I spied in the last post. Just to be clear.)
Today: WE ARE GETTING HEAT. That's very cool. They are firing up our 100 year old boiler so this should be an interesting day. Apparently - during our renovation - the most important valve was broken and there has been pouring gas into our chimney for three months. And apparently because of that - the tiniest of tiny sparks could have blown us to smithereens ALL THIS TIME. The Universe is on the top of my Gratitude List for EVER now. Wow. I am very busy with creativity exercises and wrecking my carpet and drinking smoothies and eating nuts. Yes. Those things are on my agenda today. And pilates. And stalking the guys at Wood Anchor who are almost done my new kitchen table that they have built out of salvaged trees from out downtown avenue. I'm on fire! It's going to be awesome.
Last chance to register for the BOOTCAMP version of my Nurture Your Creativity + Be Bulletproof online class (which starts this morning).
