SORTING. Aside from painting my brains out for the T+A original art project I have been working on getting my studio (and the rest of our home) organized. The tricky part about that is that I HAVE NEVER HAD AN official STUDIO BEFORE. I've just had haphazard spaces mish-mashed between washing machines or spooky corners of the basement. So - my "stuff" just sort of accumulated in a variety of different boxes. Along side spider webs and the odd piece of mouse poop. SO BE IT. I figured I would remedy the box situation by getting a whole bunch of snazzy containers and sorting things. But, I needed to do it cheaply. Like REALLY cheap. Which is the opposite of snazzy here where we live. So I bought a dozen tall wide mouth mason jars. DAN TOTALLY MADE FUN OF ME. He was pretty certain that I was going overboard by 10 jars. But whatever. I got to work sorting out different types of paintbrushes. Different types of pencils. Different tools. Different types of blades. Different types of pastels. And markers. And white markers. And MORE WHITE MARKERS. AND MORE WHITE MARKERS. And SERIOUSLY - how many white markers does one need???? It was crazy.
Not only did I run out of jars, but I realized just how much stuff I have. And by how much stuff - I mean I was a wee bit giddy and a tad embarassed. But, HOW AWESOME IS THAT! Seeing my supplies laid out pumped me up. Dude, there is just NO DENYING it anymore. I am either a hoarder or an artist.
That is so rad. (The artist part.)
FINDING. Speaking of white markers! I FOUND this series of paintings during my sorting... LINES1 - the grey owl, the barn owl and the snowy owl. They are from the I Found Wings Collection and I THOUGHT THEY WERE LOST. Actually, I thought that Dan threw them out. But they are found! I love lines. I love owls. I love finding things. They are listed for $200 each, but as a celebration of relief - I'd be happy to send them to someone who isn't going to lose them for $125 each (plus shipping). Email me fast if you're interested (The orange one is SOLD. The grey one is SOLD.)
Today: I'm crazy sick. Like DOG sick. I never get sick so it's not that awful. And I really can't sleep anyways so I don't mind being kept up. SO too bad so sad. I'm going to shut myself in my studio and paint, sip hot tea, and continue sorting. Sweet!
GO!
