Timber! Eventhough we knew it was coming - you are never really prepared for the sound a towering elm makes when she hits the street. It was incredible. And sad. Ninety-nine years old - this old elm tree commanded attention in her final boom. And it was almost as though nature was sad too because as the trucks and woodchippers arrive the sky went from cheerful to black + ominous. The rain wept and the air was heavy.
The city workers were nice enough to oblige my request for a portion of the trunk so that I could see if Wood Anchor could make us a stool for house90. A quiet thank you for the century of shade and fresh air.
Amen.
Today: I have a new print or two that I will post around noonish. Just in time for the weekend. I am working on a half dozen big projects and it's keeping me buzzing like neon. It's good. I'll share soon.
GO!
