They make me laugh. This series of photographs is one of those sets that will go into the box that holds my heart. They are the ones that I would race into a burning building to save... because they're my girl tribe in a clear and honest moment. This was a 1 minute adventure yesterday when the light was coming in the right window and when I asked them to sit there - THEY DID. And when I begged the big P's to make sure Poet didn't fall off the bed when I raced to grab my camera - THEY DID. And when I asked them to smile - THEY DIDN'T EVEN HEAR ME because they were laughing their heads off at their own inside joke. And singing. And screeching. And doing what they do best.
Each girl is represented - in character + cuteness. You can read a bit into their bonds and language. I love seeing them together like this. Everyone always tell me how much they look alike... but I think they are so, so, so different. It's my goal to document as their relationship grows... maybe because I don't have any sisters but, their connection mesmerizes me. Oh, they do a lot of fighting, too. But, there is a tenderness that I can't describe.
But I can see.
Today: I'm jumping in to a week that is busy and lacking my usual structure and space. I am speaking for graphic design students at the college this morning. I'm going to the US on a mission for the afternoon. I'm finishing a project for a company in Brazil tomorrow. I'm having a girl-tribe-day without email on Wednesday. I'm exhibiting in an underground art show on Thursday + Friday. I'm doing live art on Friday. I'm Dan's date at a Christmas part on Saturday. Hello December! Buckle up and hang on!
The ARTSHOP will be back up and running this week with new things. OH and if you are interested in an 11x22 inch gallery print of the polar bear painting titled SHE - that will be available officially released on Wednesday. The original edition was for 5 prints, but they sold out BEFORE the prints were printed. So I made the edition 10. And there are only three left. More details on Wednesday.
GO!
