Yesterday was one of those days. And by one of those days I mean one of those days when you get stuck in the middle of a BOMB BEING DETONATED. That's not a joke. You can read about it here. Penn, Poet and I happened to be heading to the mall to finish up our Christmas shopping at 9:15 and we got held in traffic while a suspicious package was investigated + detonated. Apparently it was all for naught because it was basically just a cardboard box with a bunch of pipe cleaners. HOW. ANNOYING. And stressful. And crazy. The 9 minute drive to the mall took us 90 minutes there and 90 more minutes back. WHICH IS REALLY, REALLY BAFFLING because it's 30 minutes to WALK. Needless to say - it set a stinky tone for the day. Frank chewed our back door up while we were gone. We missed a bunch of deliveries. We were late picking Pilot up. I had to go do the running around after the girls were in bed. STINK. BOMB. Pardon the pun. The BEST part of the day was simply NOT GETTING BLOWN UP. That's not a day full of Christmas spirit, is it? (Top Photo - my rad mittens are made of repruposed sweaters by Preloved. I got them at Five Two Boutique. HOW COOL ARE THEY?)
THIS was the highlight of the day AFTER NOT GETTING KILLED BY A CARDBOARD REPLICA OF A BOMB. Look at that kid and look at that canvas! It's this graphic on a very thick gallery canvas by CanvasPop. They sent me a credit to give their service a whirl and I was DOUBTFUL. But, have been converted. I also did a 12x12 Instagram photo on the same gallery-type canvas and it's dreamy. Thank you CanvasPop. We are working together on a way to get my art - available on gallery wrapped canvas instead of just flat prints. So far - so good. Watch for more info in 2012.
From left to right - top to bottom: the mittens, the canvas, the canvas and the scarf, the scarf!!
I'm not gonna lie: after I got home from marathon Christmas shopping after busy-Dan finally got home from work - I had MULTIPLE glasses of wine to toast the fact that me and my babies are still here. I MIGHT have even grabbed that mischeivious pup for a cuddle. Because this is the very season to do those kinds of things.
Because life is good.
Today: We are going to lay low and wrap gifts and drink coffee. Maybe play in the snow. We are NOT GOING TO do anything other than wait for the mailman and love the babies + puppies that keep it real around here. 'Tis the season.
GO!
