I have this side project that is very dear to my heart. LINKwithlove.org. It stems from this. And this. I was asked to be part of a panel on Ethics & Etiquette for Bloggers at the Altitude Summit. I know, I know - I've said it a hundred times. It meant a bunch of different things to me (and I'll get to that). For the conference, I had some special key tags made. They are special because they are goregous and there aren't very many. LINKwithlove doesn't make money. Or have money. (It actually costs me money.) But that's not what it's about. My idea was - that you would get a key tag that was actually TWO key tags and your mission is to break them apart and give one to someone who doesn't know about LINKwithlove. It would be linking + sharing + spreading the word. Being the change. And looking amazing.
Front + back. And let me say - I saw the comments from this post on the phrase "I AM CHANGED" and I was a little bit surprised to see it spark conversation. I am changed. I'm SUPER changed - and I was a good-linker before. And every time I talk to someone new and share the message - I'm changed again. I learn more. And I see more. And I share more. And I can't imagine a single bad thing about that. I definitely don't assume that every single person is doing the wrong thing - but I'm hoping that by talking about it - we can make sure that everyone does better.
Because there is better to do.
Key tags are available here. For the price of a latte - you will be supporting a good cause. And creating change.

ALTITUDE SUMMIT. It was so surreal to be in the same room as incredibly talented (read: superstar) bloggers and designers and film makers and illustrators and inventors and OH MAN! AND TO BE INVITED. Wow. Super wow. I got to speak my mind on behalf of LINKwithlove to Ben at Pinterest. I talked to the Laurie of Kirtsy. I had dinner with Remodelista. I met too many amazing people to list. But they were crazy-amazing. With blog + sites so awesome I wanted to rush home and revamp my whole life. It was crazy. And fun. Inspiring. (Best parties I've ever been to.)
The Ethics & Etiquette panel was not well attended. I've been trying to think of a fancy way to make that sound glamorous. Or funny. But I can't. Ethics is not shiny or pretty. It is not as fun as craft parties or building corporate sponsor relationships. It is not as easy as naps or window shopping. It's not icecream - it's bran flakes without milk. The panel was insanely fabulous (thanks Danni, Sarah + Tracey ) so it's a bummer people missed out. The people who attended got a front row seat at an informative + passionate session and I am beyond GRATEFUL. To those who were there - thank you.
Today: I'm sorting my thoughts - and getting back to my happy place to refuel. Paint. January has been kicking my rear and it's time to shake it off and get to work. COFFEE.
Get your key tag! (I have mine on my bulletin board - it's too pretty for my keys!)
GO!
