We threw caution to the wind yesterday and mashed a playdate with a grocery trip. AND WHY NOT! We were 2 mamas and 5 kids. The mamas needed adult-time, the kids needed kid-time and WE ALL NEEDED GROCERIES. I'd say it was was pretty effective. Except for the part where MY kids were really bad. Like roller derby in the grocery store kind of bad. The store was probably pretty happy when we left, but in our defense we were happy chaos and every old person in the place was seriously delighted. OH. And hey sending small people out to find produce guarantees for interesting interpretations of things like BANANAS. Or LIMES. For instance: I came home with 10 single plantains (WHAT DO I DO WITH PLANTAINS?? THEY TASTE SO TERRIBLE!!). And a bag of spiky brown fruit because it was just too hard to argue with such sweet faces when I tried to kindly explain that as much as I said I looooooove pears - the 40lb bag is just too much!! (Anyone have incredible pear recipes?) Good times.
It's less than 2 weeks until the ALTITUDE DESIGN SUMMIT in Salt Lake City. Just the very idea has set off a series of inspiring explosions. And TO-DO lists. I have no idea what to expect and I have never been to something like this. Are you going?
Today: I have meetings! I have a skype meeting, a phone meeting, and a face-to-face meeting. An exciting meeting. A long overdue meeting with my paint brushes (please, please, please). And a meeting with my spin bike + pilates reformer (for my EveryOtherDay challenge). A meeting with coffee. And maybe a long, hot shower meeting. It feels like the pace just picked up and things are a little bit electric around here. I LOVE THAT. Big things happening.
GO!
