I have been giving myself a long leash this summer. To BE. To WANDER. I am a creature of habit and I very, very much like posting daily + sharing freely. I really, really appreciate the visitors that stop by this space. I am very much alive. Sometimes it pains me to know I have not posted new goodness. Sometimes it's a weight off my shoulders. This year - I have been rethinking every aspect of my life - creative + otherwise. Health + happiness. Now + future. I have been trying to answer the question of WHO I AM + WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME. Am I a painter or a blogger? It's a good question because, truly - you are what you spend your time on...
This my summer of paint. If I had a manifesto - it would be just that. PAINT. Creating without motives other than to simply create. September, after I have surveyed my surroundings and sorted through the feelings that sink themselves into the colours and lines - the SHOP WILL BE OPEN. With so much newness. And a grateful heart.
It's the ebb + flow. From empty to full and back again. And again. And again.
In the meantime - I'm not going anywhere. I love to share. I love to post peeks: here + on Instagram (@kalbarteski). I love summer nights. And margeritas. And sidewalk chalk and I just might toss reservation and sport a modest bikini.
Maybe.
Today: I am working on a painting and finishing a series of illustrations. And sorting my shop. And preparing for Fall. Join me...
