October: Wow. Honestly. I've been waiting since February for you. I really have. And it feels like you took forever and no-time-at-all to arrive. Now that you're here - take it easy! Enjoy yourself. It's going to be a month of awesome and I'm counting on you to be good news, good times, and good to us.
- The weekend was especially great because it kicked off with a HONEYCRISP apple delivery. Straight from Nova Scotia!! Thank you Paulette & Blake for sending apples with your sweet neice (in the photo with me)! Oh, and FYI the whole world is trying to get me to like other types of apples. Even that sneaky Paulette tossed in a couple of Sweet Tangos to tempt me. And they were great! BUT, Honeycrisps are AMAZING times ten. I cannot be swayed. Unless maybe a Honeycrisp had a baby with a nectarine and it was full of alcohol then I might reevaluate my allegiance.
- Poet! My phone went missing for a short time on the weekend and when I found it - I also found this adorable photo. That's my Poet. She's 20 months and she took that photo BY HERSELF. Unassisted. On the lam. Being a bad ass. As in she took my phone and she could have thrown it in the toilet but she opted for selfies in the mirror? How wildly appropriate and adorable? I'm a little disappointed that she didn't hashtag it... But that's about the most adorable thing I have ever seen.
- The painting Le Ciel found a new owner. I'm happy and I'm KIND OF SAD because I painted it specifically for that spot at house90 and now I need to get something new in the works so our house stops looking like Whoville after the Grinch rolled out. I'm on it. I am envisioning something cozy for the winter. Maybe something red...
- This weekend was Fall like I have never seen it before. The leaves around our street are EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful - perhaps I am in hyper mode - but there were so many oooh's and aaaaah's as we played outside in the gorgeous weather. It was like being caught in a postcard. Or being suspended in the moment... and maybe that's because I know that this week is going to get windy and blow the leaves away so that winter can transition towards us. Either way - it was a real treat to take in the sites and smells of fall and bottle them up in photos and memories. Thanks September.
Today: I am eating apples and painting like a crazy person. I have a 2-day week in my studio because our radical nanny is taking a little break to marry the guy of her dreams. October is the perfect month for love! And then it's my first delicious gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, egg-free Canadian Thanksgiving next weekend! Sounds yummy, right? I think I will just eat apples! Sporadic and random postings for the rest of the week.
GO!
