I lucked into an opportunity at the Assiniboine Park Zoo last month. They wanted silhouettes of each of their bears at their factual heights so folks could see how they measure up to a real bear. Hey. I'm not fussy if it means DRAWING POLAR BEARS AND HANGING OUT WITH PEOPLE WHO HANG OUT WITH POLAR BEARS. Actually, I will certifiably JUMP ON any oppotunity to engage a community in learning about + loving on bears. It was super fun! It was actually the most fun I've had since painting on ice! It's hard to explain that - but this was a memorable and beautiful experience for many reason and I am so grateful. I will take any opportunity to foster conversation + education pointed at wildlife preservation, understanding and love.
“In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.” ~ BABA DIOUM
I think it was a hit with old + young. People... and bears.
